An architecture for the deployment of Media Ecosystems has been defined in the frame of the ICT ALICANTE project. A Media Ecosystem is an integrated environment bringing together Network operators, Service/Network Providers and end-users/prosumers which collaboratively offer and exploit resources in order to publish, share and consume media services. The architecture proposed incorporates several features in the context of the Future Internet, including virtualisation, cross-layer optimisation and content awareness. The relevant paper was presented in the IEEE ISCC, Corfu, Greece, June 2011. Read the article here.
